Coe looked like he wanted the earth to open and swallow him up. Also it could be a good time for Baddiel and Skinner and that bloke from the Lightening Seeds to conjure up a 'Ping-pong is coming home' song.

Incidentally, a chap named Ping Pong is a rising star at ping-pong in China.
